Brilliant Actors, Bad Leaders
It is true that knowledge is power. The knowledge our corrupt leaders have of what is really happening behind curtains, combined with the lack of real information to which they subject the people, gives them the edge they need to fool each and every one of us.
I have been gathering info from different sources in these recent days, and, I have been able to create a hypothesis that relates to our crisis here in Puerto Rico.
First, consider that the government says that it has no money, a few days after the taxpayers have given three billion dollars out of their pockets.
Second, is the fact that, out of 300,000 government employees, only 95,000 were thrown out of their jobs. Some people were working less hours, which is not really a blessing, since they have the daily expenses but not the usual income.
I could add more data, but my point is this: the government was targeting the 75,000 employees working at the Department of Education, the other employees were used to cover the fact that the government was really trying to manipulate the people through their children.
Having all this children hostage to the government was demoralizing for their parents (no grad day, buy food the children will be in the house, find who will take care of them during these days, that's chaos).
I think that among our corrupt leaders, there are really brilliant actors, who know very well where to hurt people. These people said among themselves: "let's attack them where it hurts, the children".
Some of these politicians really deserve an Oscar Prize for acting so well and getting what they want.
I may be wrong but I know I am not so far from the truth.
P.S. There are close to 575,000 students in the public school system.
